Alma 29:9

I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

Week 1

Hey fam!
Greetings from the MTC! Firstly- I AM SO HAPPY! I love the Gospel and am doing well. I just love the MTC so much. The spirit is like permeating the atmosphere here and it seems like I can't get away from it. (not that I want to or anything cause I just love it so much.). Just so you guys know, my branch president asked us to write a hand written letter to you guys yesterday, so I will pretty much be saying the exact same thing now and then, with some additions. I guess the moment we've all been waiting for is who on earth is my companion. The answer is companions. That's right, I am in a threesome. These sisters are just the most wonderful hermanas a sister missionary could ever want. We have connected well and have really begun to appreciate one another. The first one is Hermana Grow. She is originally from Arizona but now lives in Lehi. The other one is Hermana Ivie (as in ivy). She is from Delta Utah. All of us sisters are going to TRUJILLO PERU and are waiting for our visas. We all got our calls around the same time so we feel for each other and how long each of us has had to wait to be here. I am so grateful to have been put in an intermediate class. I actually understand most of what our teacher (Hermana Runyion- ryhmes with onion) says to us. This really surprised me because I didn't think I was that good, but it is going pretty great. What surprised me even more is how much I could speak. Granted there are many mistakes, but everyone else can figure out what I am saying. We taught our first lesson in Spanish yesterday. WHAT!? and it was one of the coolest things that I have ever done. The spirit really guided us and I think that he felt the spirit. I still worried about the people in the beginning class because I struggled, and I more or less know how to get stuff out of my mouth. I can't even imagine how scary that must have been for them.
So here's a funny story. Since all of us are waiting for our visas this story gets really ridiculous. We had just finished class and were on our way to lunch when I hear my name being called over the intercom system and to pick up a hall phone. We freak out a little because we thought it could be a visa! so I pick up the hall phone and hear "Han?" . It was none other than Corianne. She told me to come up to see her, so I did :). It was nice to be able to see her since I didn't get to before I left. Here's the other part of the funny story. I was taking a shower this morning and when I got back to my room, my companion told me that I had an urgent call from the front desk. Again we all thought it could be a visa because I knew that Cori was going home this weekend. So we head up there and what do you know- it's Brady. It was really fun to see him too and chat with him for a bit.
The food here is super delicious and I am really enjoying everything that we are learning. I have come to love the Gospel more and more the longer that I am here. I have to say this as well. Dale, you were right. I shouldn't have gotten into the bad habit of saying "dude" before each sentence. It is a really tough habit to break, and we aren't allowed to say that to one another. It has been really tricky trying to get used to that, but all is well.
The next thing is about how much I love my district. We have the coolest Elders and the most wonderful sisters. They really know how to bring the spirit into the lessons, and still be fun at the same time. Here's an added benefit that I didn't quite anticipate. I really like being able to have a relationship with boys without it being weird because we are all here to serve the Lord. We can just like them for being great missionaries and great friends.
How's everything on the farm? Get anymore rain? Is Dale still freaking out about planting?( as usual :D). Everything is just super duper here and I am very happy. I have never been so busy in my life, but the days are mushing together in a whirl. It feels like Ive been here for a month and only a day at the same time. All we do is sit in a class and eat. But I love you all! My P-day is on Fridays. Love ya bunches
