FAMILIA- (Including the newest addition......)
Congrats to Matt and Katt and best of all welcome to Carter to
the greatest family of all time. I am so excited for those two. I'm glad that
everything went okay and that everyone is doing well. I am grateful that our
house is still standing (even if it needs a few repairs). I love the pics and am
so excited to be an auntie again. That is number 3 since I have been on my
misión. Bridger was born at the MTC.
Hyrum was born in Washington DC and Carter was born in
Rinconada in Trujillo Peru. Wow. That's pretty tight.
Hopefully the pictures come through this time. But things have really been
happening here- I love the food here so so so so much, but I would do
just about anything to have some steak and mashed potatoes(get this- I want REAL
potatoes, not the fake ones. Yeah that is one of the blessings of the
misión is that I have finally embraced real potatoes.) with GREEN
BEANS. But I eat well. Maybe too well. My companion had a surgery about 2 months
ago that makes it really hard for her to exercise in the mornings so I have
tried to do some aerobics in our room, but it aint easy. I want a
salad real bad but we aren't allowed to eat lettuce or strawberries or pork or
ceviche. It usually isn't too bad, but I just want a nice salad
with cucumbers lettuce and tomatoes. Yum
We had a wonderful miracle yesterday. We have been working a lot with a
couple of Little old ladies that I think that I have mentioned before. Their
names are Yolanda and Manuela. Yolanda has a granddaughter in Chile who is a
member and has been telling her abuelita to go to church with the
missionaries, but has not been able to until this past week. She agreed to come
with us (FINALLY) but Manuela said that she couldn't. The reason that she gave
is that she has a Little tienda that sells pan y
verduras en la mañana. She has to sell them in the
morning because people want their produce in the mornings. She told us that
Sundays were the slowest day of the week and that she would never have the time
to come with us. But this past Sunday when we went to pick up Yolanda, there was
Manuela dressed and ready to come to church. We were surprised and asked why she
could come. She said that tons of people came early in the morning to buy pan
and verduras. She sold out earlier than she had in years and had
enough time to get ready for church. MILAGRO. We went to church
which was stake conference. Via transmission we listened to Elder Scott (He
spoke in Spanish. that man is so legit) and Elder Bednar and some
other 70. They were speaking to all of Peru. It was sosososososo
awesome. After all the speakers Manuela would tell me Que Linda! I know that
they felt the spirit and am very hopeful for them.
Congrats to Dad and his new calling! I don't know what the Young Men are
going to do without him, but the Gospel Doctrine class is going to Love
listening to the teachings of Dad each week. I sure would. I am glad that potato harvest is going well. What a blessing. Furthermore, I am glad that
Claire had a good time helping out with that. It was so great to hear from her.
But who is that icky hairy man that she is with in one of the pictures? Dan, I
think you forgot to shave man.
Sé que el Evangelio es verdadero, que este iglesia bendice a
las familias. Es increíble a ver las diferencias entre una familia quien tiene
el Evangelio y una quien no tiene. He encontrado muchas personas en
