Alma 29:9

I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

The Week Before Transfers...

Querida Familia-
First of all- mom, I dont really know how they are planning for us to call home. From what I hear, I think they´ll do it via skype, but they haven´t really told us yet. So I will do what I can to keep you updated on that. (Plus transfers are this week and I think it depends on where you are the way that you can call home for Christmas) We are sure that either Hna Martinez or I will be leaving, so we will see! To answer moms question- The toilet paper here is super weird and it smells. Seriously though it has a fragrance and it really bugs me. Whatever happened to non-perfumed TP? Yes I did meet Elder Grow and Sister Grow and we made the connection! It was awesome. He really serious sometimes and then the next second he is telling a really funny joke or laughing at something or another. It was really fun to listen to him speak to us. He gave us a whole lot of really important information about what we can be doing better as missionaries and individuals to prepare ourselves for the moment that we need the guidence of the Spirit. (lets be honest, we need the spirit in EVERY moment)

As for the other question about cleaning up Huanchaco, it was AWESOME! It was only the church that was doing it. Most of the members were wearing a bright yellow vest (there wasn´t enough for everyone so Hna Martinez and I gave ours to some other members) and the beach was COVERED with yellow vests. Huanchaco is a super touristy area and there is always junk on the beach. We cleaned it all up in a few hours with as many people as we had. All of the stakes of Trujillo were invited and all the missionaries in Trujillo. Some wards just had a few people and others the entire ward was there. It was really awesome to help out.

I sure was proud to hear about Ben following in Matt's footsteps as he shoots at birds that are "out of range". No one will ever go hungry with our mighty hunters that we have in the family. Also, I was super happy to hear that Sarah is on the mend and able to work around the house and such. What a blessing.

We lost almost 2 days of proseliting for the trainning with Elder Grow and Cleaining Huanchaco, but it was still enough time to be a part of a miracle. We have been visiting a member named Maria Huiman. She is in a wheelchair and lives on the second floor of an apartment. Her spose is gone all day long and in order to go anywhere, her grandson has to go down to the street and stop a strong adult man to carry her down. It is obvously uncomfortable and she has been dying to get out of there. The other day she told us that she needed to get out by January 5th or have to renew her contract and she sure didnt want to live there anymore. She asked us if we knew anywhere to go and we said no, but that we´d keep an ear out. The very next day we were visiting with a menos activa named Vanessa. She said that she was moving soon and needed someone to rent her house. Someone who could move in the first week of January. Litterally our jaws dropped and we told her we knew exactlly the right person. Hna Maria started to cry when we told her because she was so happy. The two hit it off and things are pretty much settled. I know that both of them had been praying for a miracle to happen (because they both told us so) so that one could have a renter and the other could leave her house. We were so excited and happy to be the answer to their prayers.

Yolanda is preparing to be baptized in January! She comes to church with us every single week and loves to listen to the speakers in Sacrament Meeting. She especially loves fast and testimony meeting.

Christmas is almost here and all the people here love to talk about la Navidad and about Jesus. It is the greatest time of the year. I loved the Christmas Devotional, especially the talk by Elder Nelson. So many people need peace in their lives and that only comes through the Prince of Peace, the Savior of the world.

Les amo mucho, y sé que Jesucristo es mi Salvador y Redentor. Estoy muy feliz para ser misionera en esta época para trabajar con el Señor de la viña en estos últimos días. Sé que este se su obra.

Some of the young women in our ward for an activity to play volleyball and soccer.

After all the hard work Cleaning Huanchaco we treated ourselves to Peru´s idea of a Snocone. It wasn´t half bad.
