In case anyone was wondering, it is really really hot here. I ask
what the temperature is and immidiately regret it everytime because the
only thing that they have here is celsius. And those numbers dont mean
anything to me. Ooooh so its 35 one day...
okay, but in my house that means that its a tiny bit more than freezing,
and I can tell you that its more than barely above freezing. It sure is
toasty here.
Mom I am attaching some fotos of me with some niños. I will take
some more this week with the kids to show to your kindergardeners. And
don´t worry, several niños of the ward are proudly wearing their HLJ
(CTR) rings and show me them when they come to
church. I have been corresponding a little bit with the ward mission
leader in Washington DC with regards to some of the investigators that
we had and he just told me that the missionaries there are on facebook
and are having a lot of success with that. I think
that it will be a while yet before we are using facebook, but maybe
soonish hahahaha. Are the missionaries there using facebook?
Well we are preparing for transfers this week. The mission
president told us that it was our time to get transferred, but who knows
what will actually happen. I am perfectly willing to do whatever the
Lord tells my president what to do. I love my area
and my companion. So we will see what happens next week.
We are teaching an investigator named Cesar. Hes pretty rad. He
wants to learn more about the church to help his kids with their
problems (the kids are alcholoics but he isn´t). We had a pretty
powerful lesson with him recently where he agreed to be baptized
in February, but hasn´t come to church yet because he has to watch his
grandkids in the morning. It is the biggest challenge in the world to
have church at 8 on Sundays. No one can wake up in time to go to church.
We had 5 people who committed to come to church
with us this week and about 5 less actives who also agreed to come, and
only 2 less actives came out of all of those people. We were pretty
disappointed about that. All of them said that they were out late the
night before and couldn´t wake up, or that they
had to go to the market in the morning. But alls well.
I have been reading Nuestro Legaltad (I think that it is called
"our Heritage" in English). It is super fantastic. I am amazed -yet
again- at the sacrifices and the faith of the early pioneers and members
of the church. I am so proud to be a part of this
church with such an awesome legacy of faith and devotion.
Mom, Thank you so much for your letter. It really gave me a boost.
It is my only desire to make you and dad and the Lord proud of my
efforts. Even though things are hard, I have all of my faith in my
Father in Heaven. Thank you all for all your support
I love you
Hermana Christensen
