Alma 29:9

I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

1.27.14

Hola querida familia mio
Momma, I would love to trade you temperatures any day of the week. I is awfully hot here. Sometimes it is tough to sleep at nights because it is so hot. But we are getting along really well even in the heat. Ahhhhh the good old Melba Auction. I am glad that things don't really change at  home hahahahaha. I could really go for a slice of pie and a scone right now from the Melba auction. Oh speaking of which, Momma, could you send me a recipe for enchaladas? I know how to do everything, but we don't have a can of cream of chicken that I could use, so I have to know how to make the creamy stuff. Oh, also your bread recipe? ( and a recipe for brownies too. Even if you don't think we have the ingredients, send one anyway). My pensionista is forever asking me to teach her how to make something from my country and I am afraid that I don't know how to do much without a recipe. Oh also, what is the stuff in Taco seasoning? I have to learn how to make stuff from scratch. Do you have any other ideas for a meal that I could teach my pensionista? (or sweets. I don't think that Peruvians understand what good pastires are.) we do NOT have brown sugar.

AAAAAANNNDDDDD the final word is that-........ I am staying in Rinconada for a while longer! But, that this time, it will be with a new companion. This is the honest truth, this is the first time in my whole mission that I will be part of a transfer. Because firstly, I was in DC and new and didn't change while I was there. I left about a week before the transfer there and got here about 3 days after the transfer here. And I have been in the same area and same companion since. This is going to be my first transfer meeting. I have 9 and a half months on my mission and finally am going to a transfer meeting. Hahahaha. Funny the way things work out. This should be interesting though. I don't know Peru without Hermana Martinez. But the interesting thing is, is that my new companion came here the same time as me from the US from another mission. She was in my district before and knows my area because we have proselited together in exchanges. This should be interesting. Her name is Hermana Walkins.

Things are moving slow, but I am happy. I am sorry I can't write more, I will write next week about the baptisms of the niños (I gave them CTR rings you sent)

Love you bunches and bunches

Hermana Christensen
