Alma 29:9

I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.

Week 5 from the MTC

Ola Familia!

I love love, love, love being a missionary! The Church is true and I love being here at the MTC. Thank you so much for all the letters and cards and the occasional goodies. I am the luckiest sister missionary alive. My companions are just wonderful and life is good here at the PROVO MTC.  Mom, it sounds like you are being your good young self. That stinks that you cant go jogging anymore, but at least you can still do some step stuff. I love that. CONGRATS with the IRI stuff. Wow, you just must be the world greatest teacher or something. I just think that you are super duper. I'm glad that you can head over to Cali for a little while. That should sure be fun to hang out with your family. That picture of Bridger just looks so darn cute. I wish I was there for Mother’s Day so that I could squish his chubby little cheeks. I will not be able to call home for Mothers Day per say, but I havent heard any news from a visa, and I would therefore be getting a reassignment between Friday and Tuesday. When we get the reassignment then I can call home and give you the update. So if some strange Utah number is calling, dont hang up.

I hope that you guys are getting some rain. I have been really worried about that. I have been praying like crazy for some rain for the crops this year. I love, love, love being here! But every now and then think about counting seeds with Katie and the gang. Aimee Washburn left on Sunday and I thought I would bawl. I have seen her at least once a day and now she is all the way in Korea. We decided to meet back up in about 17 months to count seeds together. Speaking of Koreans.....Dad, the Koreans love me. I know how to recognize the Korean writing on the missionary tags and every time I see on I call out the greeting (I have no idea how to spell it in English). They are always stunned for a moment and then call it back to me. They think it funny that I always say Korean stuff to them and have a Spanish name badge. But a bunch of them recognize me now and just say Hi to me anyway when they see me. It is pretty funny, but I sure do love those Koreans.

Here a little experience that I had a few days ago that really helped strengthen my testimony about missionary work. We had just gotten done with Spanish class and I was feeling really really sad because I couldnt grasp this one concept at all. (For those who are wondering it is SUBJUNCTIVE). I really was about to cry because everyone else completely caught it and I had no idea what I was doing. Directly after this class we were supposed to teach one of our investigators. I knew I wouldnt be able to have the spirit with me when I was planning the lesson to meet her needs. So I prayed to have my sadness and fear taken away so that I could focus on the investigator (Nancy). It was amazing. I felt so peaceful and so hopeful. It turned out to be one of the best lessons we have ever given. I finally think that I know what it takes to be a good missionary and to teach to people needs rather than just lessons. I am by no means good at this, but I can see how it should go. And I was so grateful. Our other investigator (Jorge) is really fun to work with. He is really skeptical and he makes us really have to work before the lesson to make sure that we are really prepped for the things that we are going to be teaching. He is tough and really makes us think and pray, but it is a good thing and we love him a whole bunch.

I saw Audrey Svedin yesterday! Get this, she is leaving before me! ha! Still that was so fun seeing her.

I keep praying for my visa, but you know what? I don't mind as much anymore. I know I was called to Peru for a reason, but if it doesn't come quickly then I will be equally as happy with some time reassigned. I think that by praying in faith that a visa will come is great, but also praying that I will come to love the people that I will be teaching if reassigned. What an awesome opportunity that is. I love the people of Peru so much already and just want to be there real bad. But if I can't get there before my time is over here, that will be such a great blessing. My testimony of the Gospel has grown so much. I love waking up each morning and preparing to serve the Lord.

Matt and Katie- good luck with the house hunting/ putting an offer on the house. I hope that everything works out just right. Katie, pat Carter for me would you?

Tacos!!! Dude, you're sooooo gooood for making your own corsage! You rock and wow that was really awesome to have asked out an Andrus. They are always a bunch of fun. Terry I hope that you are kicking all kinds of trash at track. Run fast and break all kinds of records and stuff. :).

The Church is true.

Love.
