Hi everyone. Yes
it is true this week I took part in an emergency transfer. Don't worry
it wasn't for anything bad, but miracle of miracles I have left
Rinconada in the middle of the transfer. That was sure weird for me. I
got
the call on Tuesday saying that an area had just gotten closed for
hermanas and reopened for elders because the church needed more members
of the sacerdocio there. Anyway they decided to open up a new area. They
sent one of the hermanas to be my companion and
the other hermana stayed in Rinconada. The hermana who is my companion
is none other than one of my best friends in the entire world HERMANA
GROW! She was one of my Comps in the MTC. And now we are here in Peru as
companions opening up an area and completely
fluent in spanish. That was pretty awesome. My new area is called Villa
del mar (village of the sea) I am just the luckiest person on the planet
to be in this new area. It is the area that has the temple construction
site (Pics to come) and it is right here
on the beach near Huanchaco. It is a HUGE area, but it is super cool. It
has tons of fields and animals-especially cats- It's pretty cute. I
love my new area so much. The ward here isn't actually a ward. it is
actually only a branch, and it is really awesome.
The goal for the branch is to become a ward and in order to do that they
need some more members of the sacerdocio to be in the ward full time
members. They really are great to work will and I love the members here
so much. There is also a really neat kid that
is getting baptized from this area this weekend. We share the boundries
with a set of elders too. They are really great to work with.
It almost killed me to leave my best buddies in Rinconada. I only
had one afternoon to say goodbye to everyone that I loved. It was so so
hard. But the Lord sure loves me enough to have let me stay there one
week longer for my birthday, that I could spend
that time with those people that I love. Sometimes I just marvel at the
wisdom of the Lord and want to just be grateful.
I am so proud of my wonderful mother for inviting a friend to the
women's conference. What an a mazing missionary my mother is! And Dad, I
really really appreciated your amazing words of wisdom. I am always so
grateful for your example in everything.
I am going to have a fun time getting to know a whole bunch of new
member friends here this week. I sure am excited about that. It is
interesting going from a ward where 150 members come every week to a
branch where 60 come every week. Things are well,
and I am pretty excited to be opening an area with my BFF Hermana Grow!
Love you bunches!
Hermana Christensen
