I got the loveliest little email from Sister Whiting today. That
was sure nice of her to write little old me. Sounds like spring is
really in full swing there. That's awesome. I can't believe that Smooch
so dang long to calve. It had better be a big one.
hahaha. Sounds like Spring break was pretty boring. I think its pretty
funny when mom sends me all of her junk job list. I just love it so
much. I know that job list well seeing how I was very much a part of
those my whole life.
I love our new area it is so great and I just love being with
Hermana Grow. We were already best friends and now we can just work
together every single day. What an amazing blessing. I miss Rinconada so
much. The thought occourred to me that I may never
see it again, but it all according to the will of God and how much money
I can earn to go back someday :). It is so cool to be in the area that
has the temple construction in it. Everyone has questions about that big
white mormon building that they are making.
It is the coolest to be able to explain it to them about how families
can be together forever and how many blessings we can recieve from that
big white building.
Yesterday we had a pretty crazy experience. We were on our way to
church really early calling a cab when a lady who was a bit drunk came
up to us and struck up a conversation. She had a whole bunch of problems
and was on her way to the beach to try to
drink her problems away. We tried to convince her to go home but she
wasn't interested. After a whole bunch of funny exchanges, she said that
she wanted to come to church with us. We didnt really think that was
appropreate, but she said that we had to take
us to church or she was going to the beach to drink her life away. So we
brought her to church. She really liked the Sacrament meeting and was
very interested in learning more about God. At the end of the meeting
she refused to leave until she could talk to
the branch president. She shook his hand and told him that before she
found us that she wanted to kill herself, but that we showed her
compassion and love and that she was able to see the good in people. She
said that we were her angles that saved her. She
didn't want to stay for the rest of the meetings because finally she
realized that she should go home. She lives about 2 hours away. We
helped her to a cab and sent her off. It was the strangest experience
that I have ever had in my entire life, but it was
nice to know that we had helped her
Julio did not show up to his baptism on Saturday. That was pretty
tough again, but we litterally did everything possible to get him there
and to preapare him, but he just disapeared. This week we are going to
have to find him again to find out what happend.
I think he just got scared off by how quickly things were happening. I
know that we could not have done anything else. It was 100 percent his
decision.
We had a faulty wire in our chapel that made it impossible to watch
the womens conference. I am really sad about that but the good thing is
that we have general conference coming up soon! We are really getting
the people here really excited about GC because,
well, lets be honest, it is one of the greatest blessings to be able to
listen to the profet of god. I am so jazzed.
So a funny picture about the bananas is that I picked my very first
bananas from a banana tree, but since I'd never done it before, I
accidentally messed up big time and not only did I pull off the ripe
ones but I pulled off the entire stalk of unripe
bananas killing the banana growing part of the tree. Oops. that's okay
though.
I love you all so much.
